Holy Communion

The whole of St. Joseph’s celebrated when one of our children welcomed Christ in the form of Bread and Wine for the very first time.
First Holy Communion is a Sacrament of Thanksgiving in the Catholic Church which allows a baptized Christian to receive the Body and Blood of Christ. One of our children received this Sacrament for the very first time. The 12-year-old girl had to take part in classes for a full year to understand fully what she, out of her free will, wanted to commit herself into. This took place at St. Joseph’s Mission Church. The staff together with the children arranged a congratulations party for her. It was held in the Hall which was beautifully decorated by one of the Sisters and careworkers. During the time of speeches careworker Makhosi and one of the other kids pronounced how happy they were for her and reminded her that she should set a good example to the others and continue to grow in faith. All of the children sang Gospel hymns for the girl of the day. Afterwards there was time for eats. Let us all carry on praying for our girlĀ as she also prepares to become an Altar server.
