Last week was filled with excitement in St. Joseph: A new home for family encounters was built on the premises! We’ve been praying for a safe room for family encounters for a very long time. Thanks to a generous donation by the German organization Mission-Entwicklung-Frieden in Aalen this long-heald dream becomes reality. Last week a new park home container was installed on the premises, almost looking like a small flat. There we will be able to bring together children with their biological parents – or even establish a first contact with potential foster parents. We have many ideas of which how to use our new “home”. In the future it could also be used as a safe place for counseling, for example for teenage pregnancies or HIV education.
“God is great” were our social workers’ first words when she saw the new container. Indeed. For some of the children in St. Joseph this new home offers the opportunity to make a step towards their greatest dream: A real family!
