After a cold winter, our kids were hoping for an opportunity to celebrate the warmer weather. On the first hot spring day, we got a waterslide to St. Joseph and planned a fun day.
„When are we going to have our spring party?“, some of our boys kept asking these last weeks. They were right: It was about time to celebrate the end of winter and welcome spring. So on the first hot day of the year we planned a fun day for our kids. With the kind help of our friends from Funky Functionz we brought a waterslide to the St. Joseph garden and play area. Children and care workers set it up together in the morning – and then the fun started! The laughter and joy must have been contagious, because many other children from the parish joined in after their church service. At noon we came together for our midday prayer, led by our oldest girl in the home and attended by the center manager, Sr. Assumpta Hadebe. For lunch, we had organized hotdogs, cold drinks and ice-cream – every child’s dream of a feast day. In the end, the spontaneous spring party turned out to be one of childrens‘ favourite days in the whole year. And the best thing about it for us? The little ones came up with the idea themselves!
