Music Competition

Our children from St. Joseph’s CYCC came out second position in a musical competition

Singing is a very big part of the life in the children’s home. That is why they were very excited to take part in the Holy  Childhood Association music competition. The Holy Childhood Association music competition is a sodality with the aim of „Children helping Children“. Five of our children from St. Joseph’s CYCC participated together with other children from Mbongolwane parish. Two women from the parish and one of our sisters were training the children. They were to sing one of the famous Christmas carols, „Silent Night“, against four other different parishes. The competition was held at St. Patrick’s parish in Empangeni. Transport was organized for 21 pupils. The priest of St. Joseph’s parish accompanied the children to give them his support. The children sang beautifully and came out second position. They received a trophy, certificate and a medal. All of the children were overwhelmed with joy. One of the women who were preparing them rewarded them for their achievement. She took all of them to KFC for lunch and to McDonald’s for ice cream. Happiness was written in the faces of all the children. It was surely a day to remember!
